Hi, I'm Doug.

As a practicing attorney for nearly 15 years, I've learned firsthand how important effective communication is in our everyday lives. I've witnessed people and businesses alike struggle to convey the important messages they so clearly held. Over time, it solidified my understanding of my purpose and my passion, and I had to help.

But I took time to get there...

Despite being deeply passionate about all things communication, I'm also a textbook introvert. I have been for as long as I can remember. In fact, until high school, I was painfully shy, and the thought of speaking in front of groups literally made me nauseous.

It was on the not-so-subtle encouraging of my mom that I enrolled in debate and forensics my freshman year, and it unlocked something inside of me. Suddenly, I discovered that once I fought through the nerves, there was a skilled speaker somewhere in that shy, introverted exterior.

I've long been fascinated with communication strategy, and how it appears in literally every aspect of our lives, but I noticed two common themes - First, people took it for granted as a skill, a sort of ambivalent "Eh, people either have it or they don't" mentality is running rampant out there! And second, the "advice" being doled out on how to practice and improve was...shall we say...less than inspiring.

I took the years of improvement I'd made in my own skills, along with my own knowledge of the topic and passion to expand it even further, and took the steps I'd been building toward for years. By using a "formula" framework, my basic concepts for how to structure communication could be easily remembered, consistently repeated, and flexibly adapted. The Communication Equation was born.

I don't just think anyone can become a powerful, impactful communicator...I'm living proof. If an introvert like me can do it, so can you. I'll show you how to use the Equation in every aspect of your life, and reap the benefits of effective communication.

Let's get started!
